This grab bar is designed for PULLING. Mount across from the toilet or in the shower and use to pull up from a seated position or to help lower down into a seated position. The folding bar is 12” deep when in the locked position and is 17 ½” wide. The bar folds up or down when not being used so it is not in the way. Made of stainless steel or painted white stainless so can be used in the shower without fear of rust. The load capacity when pulling is 450 pounds. If using as a traditional grab bar the vertical load capacity is 250 pounds.
